Streamline
The exuberant Art Deco style, dominant in the 1920s and 30s, influenced every sphere of design from fashion and entertainment to architecture, interiors and industrial design - some resulting in a level of luxury unmatched to this day. In Streamline, a collaboration between Royal Selangor and the Victoria Albert Museum, London, the stylish reinterpretation of a motif from a Marion Dorn (1889 - 1964) rug of 1935 in the museum’s collections captures the era’s overlapping obsession with glamour, function and technological modernity in a range of strikingly elegant home accessories.
