The Dragon is the fifth sign of the Chinese zodiac. Those born in the Year of the Dragon are said to be courageous, intelligent and benevolent. Underpinning this new zodiac cycle’s design is its origin myth of the Great Race called by the Jade Emperor. Animals raced to be honoured as calendar signs, designated in the order each animal crossed a river. Stylised clouds, rocks and waves allude to motifs customary on imperial robes and to the mythical river, whilst circular and rectilinear forms reference the Chinese concept of heaven and earth. 24K gilding embellishes selected items. Layered with depth and meaning, the collection graces home and corporate occasions.
