COMYNS IS ONE OF THE OLDEST ENGLISH SILVERSMITHS, WITH A HERITAGE SPANNING NEARLY FOUR CENTURIES AND A HALLMARK DATING BACK TO THE 17TH CENTURY.

THROUGHOUT ITS DISTINGUISHED HISTORY, COMYNS FIRST GAINED RECOGNITION FOR FINELY CRAFTED DRESSING TABLEWARE AND LATER BECAME KNOWN FOR INTERPRETATIVE WORKS INSPIRED BY PAUL DE LAMERIE, A LEADING SILVERSMITH OF 18TH CENTURY ENGLAND. HIS INFLUENCE HELPED SHAPE A DESIGN TRADITION THAT REMAINS CLOSELY ASSOCIATED WITH ENGLISH SILVER. Over time, Comyns developed a reputation for producing silver for both private clients and established brands. Its works are represented in historic collections, including the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. At the heart of Comyns lies a steadfast commitment to traditional English silversmithing, with generations of artisans trained under rigorous five-year apprenticeships to preserve time-honoured techniques. The company maintains an archive of more than 35,000 moulds, tools, patterns and drawings reflecting movements such as Baroque, Rococo, Neo Classical and Art Nouveau. From centrepieces to tableware, tea sets, pitchers and candlesticks, each piece balances classical influence with contemporary refinement.

Today, Comyns produces silverware and jewellery while undertaking bespoke commissions, maintaining a consistent focus on craftsmanship and design integrity.
